plug: 7 Days in Hell (2015)
A short sports mockumentary about the longest professional tennis match in history
Welcome to today’s plug, a quick recommendation of an oft-forgotten film, cult classic, or movie that is dying to be rewatched // We send plugs every Tuesday + Thursday //
Have you ever wondered what it would look like if Kit Harrington had a boner in public? It would look something like this:
This blessed gif is courtesy of 7 Days in Hell, an HBO sports mockumentary starring Harrington and Andy Samberg. It tells the story of tennis rivals Aaron Williams (Samberg) and Charles Poole (Harington) as they compete in the longest professional tennis match in history. (You don’t have to like tennis to enjoy the television movie, thankfully.)
Samberg is so funny and good in this. Harrington is also funny and good in this. Will Forte and Fred Armisen are also here, and, as you can imagine, they are also funny and good. Serena Williams, Chris Evert, and John McEnroe are in it, and since they’re professional tennis players, it makes it feel like wow, we’re talking about professional tennis here. The film makes fun of the bad boy personas of tennis and the Queen of England and Swedish law enforcement and some other stuff that I can’t remember right now, but trust me when I tell you this: I laughed.
Here’s the best part of 7 Days in Hell: it’s 45 minutes long. You could watch it 3 times and it would be quicker than watching Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice once. Just sayin’!
